Since 1903, our drive to make windows and doors that are different and better has been at the heart of our company. Our “all together” culture is part of what fuels our innovation and makes Andersen a special place to work.

Nearly 100 years ago, Andersen launched an employee magazine called the Frame Maker as a way to keep all employees connected to our mission and celebrate great work. As we look to the future, we’re excited to share these stories more broadly, shining a light on the people and work that makes Andersen an industry leader. Today, the Frame Maker is available online as a source of company news and storytelling.

The company’s venerable employee newsletter launched on Wednesday, January 2, 1924. The four-page, black-and-white newsletter measured a tidy 5½ inches by 8 inches; it’s cover story was a letter penned by Fred C. Andersen, the company’s owner and the son of founder Hans J. Andersen.

Published with this statement atop the front page, “Published by and for the employees of the Andersen Lumber Co.” — this motto has held true ever since.

Today, Andersen’s 13,000 team members receive internal company news and information through a mobile app and modern intranet. By sharing this reinvented digital Frame Maker on AndersenWindows.com, people around the world can learn about the accomplishments, milestones and stories from across our great company.
